Does police law apply on the highway?

 Society these days is riddled with criminals and online underworld activities.  The news that two criminals who were taken to see the weapons were shot dead by the police and Makandure Madhosh, a powerful criminal, was the last criminal who died before going to see the weapons.

There are several main reasons why prominent criminals are killed like this.  One of the reasons why the police believe that they can end everything without any effort by shooting the criminals because there is a risk that the criminal cases will be released and join the society during the time it takes to bring the criminal cases before the law.  Makadure Madush was also killed for this reason.

According to Sri Lanka's judicial law, the accused cannot be killed on the highway and only after a trial should the court take recommended action against the accused. Sometimes it is a prison sentence.  Or a death sentence. Even if the death sentence is imposed, the hangman in the prison does not execute the death sentence, because the president's recommendation is required to execute the death sentence. Jair Jayawardene, who came to power in 1977, stopped the hanging of criminals at an unofficial level, and then the death sentence was converted into a life sentence.

When an unsafe situation is created for the criminals, the government of that country refuses to arrest the criminals abroad and hand them over to their home countries. Most of the criminals who are considered to be the main ones in this country stay in the state of Dubai. But they all lead the crime wave in Sri Lanka through telephone.  They do not commit crimes in the country they live in. Because of this, the country they live in cannot arrest them without sufficient evidence.

It is essential that the government instills confidence in the police and security forces that the criminals who are arrested will be given the appropriate punishment. Otherwise, the criminals who are causing a lot of trouble to the police will be shot dead by the police.  This is why it must be emphasized again and again that the police should be patient with criminals.
