In which hands is the university education?

 "Solve university problems immediately"

"Stop funding cuts"

"Stop student repression"

"Give the capital"

It has become a common occurrence for Sri Lanka University students to organize protests once or twice a month based on these slogans. It is unfortunate that no matter how many protests are organized, these problems are still not resolved.  Education in this country has been broken to the point where they are now hating even their own decision.  I strongly believe that the university students can give logical answers to all these problems. Because the people who benefit from this and also experience the results of the problematic situations are the university students.  States are working to adopt the concept.

Even though nearly three hundred thousand people pass the advanced level examination every year, only a very limited percentage qualify for university education and even those people who are a small percentage in this country stay in the university until the end of the course.  If a practical education system is given priority by changing the education system, there will be a very successful answer to the current unemployment problem. Going beyond the school education system, the basic need to introduce a new education system in the universities has now arrived. It is very likely that it will be an all-time answer. University students, that is, scientists must understand that educational qualification is not the basic qualification for getting a job.

Furthermore, whether the university system is able to acquire the new knowledge required by the job market is still a strong problem. It is unfortunate that the appropriate officials have not yet looked into whether the university system is producing quality students required by the job market. Because students studying in a university environment made up of a group of exemplary teachers have very little opportunity to socialize with them as a group full of attitudes.

Getting rid of the concept of rote learning and not giving priority to practicality, as a result, students have come to the point of committing suicide because they cannot bear the pressure of the learning and teaching process and the examination system. The lack of a proper process to build character is also the main reason for this.  During that time, by implementing such post development programs, it will be easy for the scientists to get used to the university life. Co-curricular activities such as sports activities, various societies and aesthetic programs can also be mentioned as examples.

Going beyond stagnant knowledge and opening up the world with an education system, whether or not university education is updated shows how the future of education in this country will be.
